It’s a forty-minute walk to the theater. Every so often, we’d feel a drop or two – and then suddenly, twenty minutes in, the sky split like the paper towel in that game where you drop marbles on a wet paper towel. We chose to plunge boldly forth, and arrived looking like very, very damp versions of ourselves.
It, um, enhanced the experience!
Veloriraptor has an unfortunate yearly arrangement with the ocean, in which it takes things and gives back dead jellyfish.
That aside, the beach trip was awesome! It was great spending time with everyone, and we even caught a few fish (by which I mean I cheered people on while they caught fish, and then ate their hard work later).
Hey, gang! How are you this fine Thursday?
And for that matter… how am I?
As I write this (nearly a week in advance!), I am preparing to embark on a grand adventure, and Patbird is enjoying his very own right now: he and my godparents have left Michigan to meet my family here in Virginia, and tomorrow morning we will all set off for the beach and it will be awesome.
So… see you next week! Hopefully neither of us will come back with ridiculous burns, like the last time Mr. Sun and I butted heads. (I sported a very trendy triangle-shaped dark spot on my thigh until winter came and my natural pastiness evened everything out. Never cross your legs for over an hour, guys.)
Galesaur, having spent maybe three days in Ann Arbor, jaunted off to sell wares at Otakon. The family beach trip (a very big deal) was the following week, so… why not spend time with the folks?
And Patbird slowly descended into madness.
Possibly the most stressful part of the move for me was worrying about Lemon, our leopard gecko. It was the first time we’d moved him since we got him a few years ago, and I wasn’t sure how he’d handle the twelve-hour ride in a smallish container, with only a wooden hidey-hole, a little heating pad, and two overly concerned caretakers for company. He was quite the trouper though!
The time has finally arrived: Patbird and I are moving to Ann Arbor this Saturday, with a lot of help from our families. I miss everyone already, but am looking forward to sharing our new (and significantly greener) adventures!
However, I’ve got a bit of travel to get out of the way first. If you’re headed to Otakon, look for me and Helen Li at the Artist’s Alley! I’ll have a few PBGS-related items, a whole buncha prints, and even some minicomics, knock on wood.
Thank you all for being so amazing!
Patbird and I have tickets for the midnight showing, and I’m already getting all sentimental. It’s been quite a journey!
DUH NUH NUHHHHHH!
First arc complete! We’ll probably be shifting away from this story and back into real life for a little while, as next month promises to be chock-full of wedding celebrations, Harry Potter viewings, moving to Michigan (!!), and other fun times.
See you next week!
Happy post-Father’s-Day, guys! Happy less than a month until Harry Potter! YEAH!
(The Moopherder Chronicles will resume shortly, never fear.)
