To spoil as little as possible, I’ll say this for Prometheus: it is definitely a spiritual companion to Alien, in that everybody makes bad decisions.
On the upside, it was visually impressive and downright terrifying (to me) at times!
I am a wimp.

“…everbody makes bad decisions.”
If they didn’t make bad decisions, there wouldn’t be much movie available, would there? I mean, in the horror movies, isn’t it a given that the person alone in the house with the killer runs up the stairs instead of out their front door? Bad decisions are the life blood of freak-you-out flicks. *nod nod*
Haha, that is true! We would definitely have shorter movies across the board if everybody thought things through all the time and checked the backseat once in a while.
Here specifically, though, poor science decisions were made, and that is a thing that makes me sad. (and eaten by cute animals. curses!)
Great comic! Especially panel 2. Did the main guy “scientist” really believe their was only one possible outcome of his trip to the other side of the galaxy? Nothing else could impress him?
Sadly this is only one of like a million examples of the characters “jumping to strange conclusions” I’ve never seen so many “professionals” with so much apathy! Why come along if you aren’t interested in all the science and mystery? :P
Haha, seriously! It’s like going to Disney World just for Space Mountain on a day when Space Mountain is down for maintenance and being like “well there is nothing else here, what’s even the point!” when there are all of the other cool things to do and Mickeys to take pictures with, except Space Mountain is a tech-savvy alien race, the other cool things are all of the technology, structures, and history they left behind, and the Mickeys are acid-puking tentacle monsters.
